Goal

For many years, Spirit of Survival has been an integral part of the Lawton community and Southwest Oklahoma. It brought participants both locally and from around the country to participate in support of the fight against cancer. This event has been very near to our hearts since its beginning as it is a beacon of hope for those who have battled, continue to battle, or have lost a loved one to cancer.

The return of Spirit of Survival will look different this year as we are hosting three events on Sunday, October 6th . Over the last 3 years, pandemic included, our resources and personnel changed leaving us with a much smaller group of staffers and volunteers with SOS experience. This, plus the rising costs of materials and equipment necessary to host the event, necessitates our starting back on SOS on a smaller but high quality scale.

Our goal is to be able to provide a quality event for members of the community, and beyond, to enjoy while raising funds for four locations of the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma. The Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma would like to express our gratitude to all of the past participants of Spirit of Survival. It has been with your support that we have been able to make great strides in the treatment and accessibility to care for cancer patients across Southwest Oklahoma.

Welcome to the 15th Annual Spirit of Survival!  After fourteen successful years, the Spirit of Survival has become one of the largest tourism attractions in Southwest Oklahoma, drawing participants and visitors for all surrounding communities and providing much needed financial support for the cancer patients of Southwest Oklahoma.  The SOS supports those with cancer and their families in all four of our locations in Lawton, Altus, Duncan, and Chickasha.  Without the incredible support of our participants, many of these patients would not be able to afford treatment or transportation to their appointments.  Thank you for your participation in the 2020 Spirit of Survival!
